Unit 2 done

I have all my unit 2's done. Actually, they were done before we headed off on vacation. I got tired of just working on the triangles. So, I did them in sets where I did a few triangles, then did some strips, and then more triangles, and more strips. I'm liking the way they are looking. The picture shows a little darker than they actually are. They are bundled in stacks of ten.

I am working...

This is the first weekend in a long time, that I can remember where I did not have an outside obligation, grandkids, kids, parents, job, wedding etc.  So, I am working.  I am completing a few blocks for a graduation gift and then I am all set up to cut strips.  I have a retreat coming up in a couple weeks and getting ready for that has been a major task.  I am scheduled to take 2 back to back classes with Bonnie Hunter, so I need to be ready.  Maybe I will have a picture to share tomorrow.

Anyone Working?

I'm checking in to see if anyone is working on the project today?  I arrived home minutes ago from my scrap quilting club meeting' had to leave early as I have a wedding to attend.  Instead of working on the group project, I worked on the PNP.  I got all my strips all sewn and cut.  I used scraps and thought I had enough strips.  In the end I needed to cut strips for That wasn't too bad. I even got to sew them to the little tri-rec triangles.  Only have 4 that I need to rip as the unit is turned wrong.  I'll spend tomorrow pressing them.

So, tell me your progress; are you working or not at all...

Finishing Up Unit 2

Okay, time to post the next step.  We need to finish up the strip sets that go with our tri-rec units.  I have my strips already cut but need to sew and cut them.  I used scraps instead of FQs or yardage when cutting so I hope I have enough of them cut.  Enough talking so let's get to work.

Here are photos of the next steps.  The next step is to sew the strip sets together and cut as shown.

Then, you will get your tri-rec units and make this block.  This should be a breeze compared to the previous units huh?

As usual, post your progress so we know how long this will take.  I'm not sure how far I'll get seeing as my scrap quilting club meets on Saturday.  I'll try to do something though.

Have fun,
Tea

We're home

We're back from vacation, and I'm ready and raring to get going again on this quilt. I hope I didn't hold everyone else up while we were gone. It was a lovely, restful, quiet, and very cold camping vacation. I am grateful for hydro supplied campsites, and electric heaters. They made the difference between having to huddle under the numerous quilts I took, doing nothing but shiver, and being comfortable while sitting in the trailer with my needle work, and good books.

Making Progress on Unit 2

I powered through sewing unit 2.  I still have a few more to do but I expect to have them done by the weekend.  Then  I will start playing with the next unit.  Everyone's blocks are coming together nicely.  I am getting more excited as we complete each task.  Here is a picture of some of the blocks.

Small Tri Recs

I finished my small tri-recs on Thursday evening.  They went together rather fast and pretty easy if comparing to unit 1's work.  Since I needed a project for my craft guild meeting after work on Friday, I start cutting for the remaining pieces needed for unit 2 from the light fabrics and the hour glass blocks.  When you are done with the tri recs, let me know.  I'll probably not post any new steps this weekend as now I need to get ready for Labor Day guests.  I have to put up some of my sewing  stuff...okay, a LOT of my sewing stuff.

Unit 2 done

After a marathon sewing day yesterday, I managed to meet my goal of getting all the unit 2s done before we leave for vacation. We'll be back the weekend of September 18th. I'll be taking my laptop with it's satellite stick with me, so I can keep in touch with how you are doing. We're going camping in our trusty old hardtop trailer. If I can find space, I might take my cutting mat, and blue fabrics, and rotary cutter, so that, if you are ready to move on to step 3 before I get back, I can do some cutting. No further pics yet, sorry.

Working on Unit 2

No picture this time, but I have all the pieces for unit 2 cut.  I sew about 65 units and am working on chain piecing another 25 or so.  I'll have family at my home for Labor Day so I have to do massive cleaning (meaning remove all sewing and quilting supplies to their appropriate home) the week end.  I'm using little bits of time throughout the week to get some of the units pieced.
